Embedded Excel Hyperlinks

    Hey Guys!

    New to WP and WP forums, so sorry if this doesn’t follow any rules/protocols for new post!

    Background – We recently installed WP 4.4.2 for an intranet site to publish a Master Document list (Excel spreadsheet) with hyperlinks many file located on a network share on our file server. We shared this document through OneDrive, and embedded the Excel file just fine, people can see it, search, all that fun stuff.

    Problem – When users click on hyperlinks within the Excel document, nothing happens. I can see the webpage trying to query the FS on the bottom right (ei. File://///server\share\etc) but again, nothing happens. Same experience in IE, Chrome, Firefox.

    Info – I have tried adding this site to trusted site, with no effect. Tried various nomenclatures for the hyperlinks themselves, and some plugin’s that I thought might help (wpDataTables Lite, Tablepress).

    Let me know if anything I said didn’t make sense, and thank you in advance for any help you are able to offer!

    Fixed it!

    Solution was to add a virtual directory in IIS, linked to the folder directory on the network share. The owner of the Master Document list now edit’s the hyperlink with the intranet path of the VD, and everything is good!
