# empty paragraph insertions

    Wordpress is inserting these empty paragraph
   lines everywhere, multiple times, one on top of one another. **It’s driving me
   bonkers !!!**_ Please, how do I stop this? I don’t want other clever formatting
   stopped, just this incredibly annoying feature. Can I hack a file somewhere? 
   Thanks for any help.

 * I have copied the html to notepad and searched and deleted the expression about
   six times now. Every time I put it back into WordPress, WordPress ‘knows best’
   and puts them back in. It makes a complete mockery of page layout and readability
   to have enormous white spaces between paragraphs of text. Why on earth does WordPress
   do this . . . ????

 * Yes (thanks), but this then stops any other – more sensible – formatting, doesn’t
   it? Is there no way to stop the daft empty paragraph insertion alone, which I
   cannot understand why WordPress does in the first place !!
