 * When filtering some terms may become empty, for example user loads shop page.
   The user then filters to show shirts, and there are no shirts from x (E.g no
   shirts from Region America), so the America term under Region filter will now
   be empty. The america term, now empty, will still be clickable for the user.
   So even if a filter is ‘greyed out’ and 0 products, the user can still click
   this filter, so they will be taken to the no products found page, which isnt
   ideal for UX.
 * Is there a simple way of preventing this from happening? The terms that become
   empty after filtering could maybe become non-clickable, or even better – become
   hidden. I’ve seen that premium has option for hide empty terms, but this only
   works for the filter on initial page load I think?
 * Thanks

 * Hi [@itsjonesyy](https://wordpress.org/support/users/itsjonesyy/)
 * You can hide empty filter terms in Free plugin version also. This option is available
   for both plugin versions.

 * Thanks, but in this specific scenario I described to you, ‘hide empty terms’
   does not actually hide terms.
 * Terms are only hidden when you enter the shop on initial page load. The setting
   in your plugin describes _‘Hide empty terms in initial Filters widget’_.
 * When using filters afterwards (like in the scenario I described), terms will
   not become hidden when they become empty and just turn gray (still clickable)–
   is this expected behaviour?

 * This is my desired behaviour (see how filters disappear when nothing is available)–

 * This is my current behaviour, empty filter still shows as 0 and are clickable–

 * Could I be doing something wrong in my configuration?
