 * Hello. Do I need to do something special for people to be able to comment on 
   my posts? If so, I would REALLY appreciate a point in the right direction. Thanks
   so much.

 * now they cannot? if theme supports comments (i think every should) check in administration
   area if commenting is not disabled (by default it is ennabled)

 * admin – settings – discussion
    configure it all there
 * also, each post has the option to allow comments – scroll to bottom of add/edit
   post screen
