# Enabling Multiple User Uploads

 * I use FTP_PUBKEY, FTP_PRIKEY, FTP_USER and FTP_PASS with SSH keys to streamline
   the upgrade and upload process for standard wordpress installations.
 * I am working on a multi-site installation and wondering if there is a way to 
   define these variables per site/user in the wp-config or htaccess files?
 * Users will not have login/command-line access to the system. I want to setup 
   the ssh keys so users can install/upload themes and plug-ins. Can you setup multiple
   FTP_USER definitions? That doesn’t seem supported.

 * In MultiSite, only a Network Admin can install/upload/activate themes or plugins.
   Regular blog administrators can’t do that. So, theoretically, you should be okay
   with setting those values once and having your Network Admin account do the updating.

 * and in a network you only do them from one admin screen anyway. So you’ll only
   be inputting the values once.
 * In short, your users cannot (and should not) install themes and plugins. There’s
   one copy of each for everyone’s use.
