# Enabling Permalinks

 * Is there a way to enable permalinks on download links?
 * For example:
    [https://example.com/download/3165](https://example.com/download/3165)
 * They are something like this instead:
    [https://example.com/?smd_process_download=1&download_id=3165](https://example.com/?smd_process_download=1&download_id=3165)
 * I have permalinks enabled in WP but the plugin doesn’t produce such a URL. I’m
   linking to an external download from GitLab.

 * The URL path is hidden from the public. This happens when you enable the following
   feature **PHP Dispatch or Redirect** in the download file, the full URL path 
   will be hidden. Let me know if this helps you.
