# Encrypting the database

 * Is there an existing plugin/mod to encrypt the blog entry in the MySQL databases?
   I know I could hack it myself, but I was wondering if someone has done this already?

 * Hmm…there is nothing that I know about. I would be “concerned” that the encryption/
   decryption would seriously slow down the loading of a site, depending on how 
   it’s designed. I assume that you are worried about people hacking into your database?

 * I’m using WP on a live-site, but also on a shared computer as a “personal journal”.
   So it’s a special case, not getting many hits, but I’d like to encrypt the data
   on that computer.
    I think whatever solution, I’ll also have to test it thorougly
   incase it is buggy and corrupts the data 🙁

 * Actually as I replied to this post, one of the (Adsense) ads that popped up gave
   me an idea, perhaps I could just use a Windows, folder based encryption package
   to encrypt the db tables?
    Would this work with MySQL?
