# Error

 * I’m trying to integrate mailchimp to my wordpress site, I’ve uploaded and installed
   it but every time I try and connect in the setup I get this error >
 * “POST to [http://localhost:8888/index.php?mcsf_action=authorized&salt=cacc75879f82265d0d74a3c10fe9d103&user_id=1](http://localhost:8888/index.php?mcsf_action=authorized&salt=cacc75879f82265d0d74a3c10fe9d103&user_id=1)
   failed: couldn’t connect to host”
 * It’s being developed locally which is the only reason I can forsee – any ideas?

 * Thanks for stopping by the forum. I absolutely understand the concern over not
   seeing the plugin work as expected.
 * Unfortunately, the plugin itself won’t work in local environments. That said,
   it would be possible to utilize the plugin’s “Developer Mode” and work on testing
   out the CSS locally, without needing to link it to any account. The linked article
   below will explain how to use Developer Mode with the plugin:
