 * hi,
    i’m trying to delete a subscriber list and i get the message “An error has
   happened while performing a request, the server has responded with response code
   403”
 * how can i delete this list? There are no subscribers in it, and there are no
   forms assigning subscribers to it.
    thanks in advance for your help.

 * Hi [@talis1](https://wordpress.org/support/users/talis1/)!
 * The 403 Forbidden error is an HTTP status code that means that accessing the
   page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason.
 * Could you please ensure that the folder permissions are set to “755”, “775” or“
   777”? You can do that via FTP.
 * Additionally, do you have any security plugins activated at all? Sometimes the
   error 403 can be caused by security plugins or specific .htaccess rules blocking
   the access.

 * I do have a security plugin.
    however, this is originating from a mailpoet list
   that i am trying to delete. I’m using the free version, which means I don’t have
   access to their team support directly, but i’m hoping to fix it through the community.
   i don’t know how to change the folder’s permission on mailpoet – don’t think
   i can?… thanks.

 * Hi!
 * > >I do have a security plugin.
 * Just to be sure, if you temporarily disable that security plugin, does the error
   still happens when trying to delete the list?
 * >  i don’t know how to change the folder’s permission on mailpoet – don’t think
   > i can?
 * it can be changed via FTP or via cPanel from your host. Here’s a tutorial you
   could follow to check if the permissions are correct:
 * – [https://www.malcare.com/blog/wordpress-file-permissions/](https://www.malcare.com/blog/wordpress-file-permissions/)
 * You can also reach out to your hosting support, they should be able to check
   the permissions and change them if needed.
 * Please let us know how it goes.
