So I’m really hoping that someone will be able to help. This is what i’ve done so far: FTP’d all contents of WP download into my root directory and then typed [http://underwoodink.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://underwoodink.com/wp-admin/install.php) Then I I get file not found. Then I tried moving all the files into a sub folder called wordpress and dis the same i.e. [http://underwoodink.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php](http://underwoodink.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php) I still get the same error. I checked the WP requirements with mu host and they said they’re fine. Any ideas about what to do to fix this? When I go to ftp://www.underwoodink.com the files and directories are there. Post the contents of your htaccess here. You’re being redirected away from the install URL index. php. Thank-you – I’ll try that when I get home tomorrow eve. Also, can I put WordPress in the root directory? The zip file extracts in a folder called wordpress, but you can take all the files out if you want. Any ideas? My host who uplinkearth say that they meet the requirements for a WordPress install but maybe they don’t. If uplinkearth isn’t helpful, I’d try another host: these two are recommended by others in these forums.
