# Error 500 “error in CGI script” on install

 * Heya, after uploading everything, enabling PHP and setting up a database server
   side I get the following error:
 * [http://www.endless-films.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.endless-films.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php)
 * Any ideas? Ive contacted my server but havent heard anything back from them.

 * I see it’s installed now. Can you tell me how you fixed it as I am having the
   same problem? If I need to go back to my ISP I’d like to be able to tell them
   what I want them to do.

 * I feel really dumb with trying to get this to work over a 24hour period with 
   no luck. I _think_ I’m in the same spot as the original poster.
 * This is the error I get **The requested URL /cgi-bin/php/blog/index.php was not
   found on this server.** Though the URL shows [http://www.leydavega.com/blog/index.php](http://www.leydavega.com/blog/index.php)
   I don’t know what “cgi-bin” is.

 * So in case anyone runs into this issue, in my case it was all on my host (hostway.
   com) to fix manually. As soon as they did their part I finally got “successfully
   installed” screen from WordPress. YAY. It only took 2 days…
