# Error 500 on wp-admin

 * Hi, I’m experiencing a problem with a 500 Error, it show up only on two pages:[
   site]/wp-admin and [site]/wp-login.
 * I can access other pages in the admin panel without any problem, i.e. [site]/
   wp-admin/options-general.php or [site]/wp-admin/edit.php , but the main dashboard
   page and the login page both have this problem.
 * In order to login, I can type the URL of one of the wp-admin subpages like the
   ones mentioned above, in this case I’m presented with the login form and I can
   correctly enter the admin panel. Everything else works just fine, it is more 
   of an annoyance than other, but I’d like to fix this.
 * What can possibly be the cause of this odd problem? How can I try to solve it?

 * Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t
   find the log, please contact your host.
 * Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/

 * You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of 
   the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one
   to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to [deactivate plugins](https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F).

 * Thank you, the server log had the relevant information.
 * It was a problem of wrong permissions (pretty much like in the 90% of the problems
   😀 ).
