# Error Activating 2fa

 * Hi,
 * Getting this message when trying to activate 2FA:
 * The code provided does not match the expected value. Please verify that the time
   on your authenticator device is correct and that this server’s time is correct.
 * Server time is an hour out which is normal I guess for GMT. I even changed time
   on my iphone to match server time and still get same message.
 * Any ideas? Thanks

 * Can you set the correct timezone for PHP within `php.ini`?
 * Locate `date.timezone =` within `php.ini` and set it to where the host is located

 * I’m having the same problem. I did set the date.timezone in php.ini and then 
   killall, but to no avail.

 * We have not heard back, were you able to correct the issue?
 * If not, could you please send over diagnostics to wftest @ wordfence dot com 
   with your forum username in the designated field. The diagnostics can be sent
   via Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Send Report by Email.
 * Please let me know if you have any questions.
