# Error applying settings

 * When i uploaded it and trying to enable it, a message was shown saying
    “Error
   applying settings.”
 * Is there any way to fix this issue?

 * I think you need your .htaccess file permission to be 0644 for this to not happen.
   That is the only way we could duplicate your error.

 * I have this same problem – I’m assuming you activate this by going to the icon
   on the left hand side of the WP panel and then ticking the enable box?
 * However I have no idea what ‘I think you need your .htaccess file permission 
   to be 0644 for this to not happen’ means!!!

 * You have to contact to your hosting providers and tell them to change permission,
   or you can do it alone.

 * Funny…I was getting the same error and actually I changed .htaccess file permissions
   to 0775, enabled the plugin and updated…and only after did I change back to 0644.
   
   While .htaccess file permissions was on 0644 it did not update – “Error applying
   settings.” So here’s another solution for you…

 * I’m getting the same problem – it worked when I first installed it – logged out–
   checked GI and it was coming back with the Leverage warnings again – the enable
   box on the plugin was deactivated – & got the error message when applying. It
   was set to 644 , then tried 775 (didn’t work) – and back again – didn’t work –
   I am on the latest WordPress, it does say its untested so maybe now it is incompatible….?

 * Hi angiefuz, just try changing file permissions….AFAIK it worx also with the 
   latest
