 * Hi,
 * Lately we have recieved error messages when we try to autheticate the pardot
   plugin for wordpress. We enter our credentials but we only get: Cannot authenticate.
   Please check the fields below and click “Save Settings” again.
 * Have tried the following:
    1.Clear Cache 2. Reset all settings 3. Re-installed
   the plugin 4. Changed the password
 * Any ideas?
 * Glenn

 * Sure. It’s worth checking in your Pardot instance, as that does disable the plugin’s
   ability to authenticate: [https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=pardot_admin_ip_location_activation.htm&type=0](https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=pardot_admin_ip_location_activation.htm&type=0)
 * If it is enabled, you’ll need to whitelist the IP address for your server. If
   that’s not it, we can take a look at what else might be happening.

 * Solved it by:
 * 1. The pardot user must not be synced with Salesforce. It must be a pardot only
   user.
    2, if you get the error message even with the Pardot only user try the
   following: 3. Log out of pardot. 4. Hit the lost pwd button. You get an email
   to reset the pwd. 5. Open the PWD reset link in incognito/private mode browser
   and set a new pwd.
