 * I currently use “WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway” and it works quite
   well. I wanted to switch to “woocommerce paypal payments” since it will be replaced
   shortly, but I found that the verification of the mandatory data on the checkout
   page is carried out only after you have logged into paypal or have entered your
   credit card data. This is very annoying, because if a customer realizes that
   he has missed a field, he realizes it very late. Can you correct it as soon as
   possible, thanks?

 * Hi [@andrea2121](https://wordpress.org/support/users/andrea2121/),
 * The checkout validation had to be temporarily moved to after the PayPal order
   creation to work around a potential conflict with third-party plugins that was
   causing orders to fail, despite the payment being successful. But with one of
   our upcoming updates, the issue will be resolved and the validation will again
   happen before creating the PayPal order as you are used to.
 * Kind regards,
    Niklas

 * Hi [@niklasinpsyde](https://wordpress.org/support/users/niklasinpsyde/),
    this
   behaviour, **not validating fields before placing Paypal order**, is a very serious
   problem!
 * The resolution of this, **should have a very high priority**, because it leads
   in lost sales!
 * There a lot of distracted customers that don’t compile all the required fields
   at the first submission.
 * Thank you.

    Perfect
   thanks. Until then I will continue to use the previous plugin. Another important
   defect to correct: from a smartphone, the “credit or debit card” button always
   redirects to an external PayPal link, while it should remain on the site as on
   a desktop PC. Best regards

 * Hi have the same error, fortunately is the restyling of a site and therefore
   not currently in production. But I’ll never put it into production, or I’ll be
   forced to switch e-commerce systems if you don’t fix it right away.
    The fastest
   way to solve the problem would be to give the possibility to activate the standard
   paypal function (which performs the checks on the requested data before opening
   the Paypal page) instead of the direct checkout on paypal

 * Hi everyone,
 * There is still the possibility of downgrading to the [plugin version 1.6.1](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/woocommerce-paypal-payments.1.6.1.zip).

   In this version, the checkout validation happens immediately when the PayPal
   button is clicked.
 * However, please be aware with that version, we did receive reports about an increased
   order failure rate for orders as a result of conflicting behavior with certain
   third-party plugins. That means, payments were successful in PayPal, but the
   WooCommerce order could potentially fail, sending mixed messages to the customer.(
   PayPal success, Woo failure)
    We recommend always using the latest plugin version,
   as the functionality was changed on purpose to temporarily prevent the previously
   reported problems. The checkout validation before opening the PayPal window will
   come back probably with the update after the next one.
 * The PayPal Standard integration is no longer supported and also not recommended,
   but it could be enabled with a filter: [https://developer.woocommerce.com/2021/07/12/developer-advisory-paypal-standard-will-be-hidden-on-new-installs/](https://developer.woocommerce.com/2021/07/12/developer-advisory-paypal-standard-will-be-hidden-on-new-installs/)
 * [@andrea2121](https://wordpress.org/support/users/andrea2121/) The behavior of
   the credit card smart button is controlled by PayPal. Some users may need to
   only enter credit card details, while others may be asked to register a PayPal
   account. This depends on many factors outside of the control of the plugin.

   Enabling the PayPal Card Processing (if available) is the only way to guarantee
   users not having to login/register a PayPal account.
 * In any case, this issue will likely be resolved with an update sometime in February.
 * Kind regards,
    Niklas
