Error in automatic update

Hi. I was trying to put in the code for automatic updates (http://wiki.ww.wp.xz.cn/AutomaticUpdate?PHPSESSID=aa58b3d8e599a6f64c5795d7b14457cd)
But when I upload the plugin.php file, I get this error
Parse error: parse error, unexpected ‘;’
I checked the line and it refers to the very beginning of the code
