    Hello
I have been using Broken Link Checker for years and have had no problems. Recently things have changed. It is now indicating that links are broken when they are not and worse still it is showing this on the output side, visible to all users. For the moment I have deactivated the plugin.

    Hi @tfarrell

    I hope you’re well today!

Recently things have changed. It is now indicating that links are broken when they are not

It’s quite possible that something might have change at the “targets” of these links, for example CloudFlare added or some additional firewall that’s rejecting Broken Link Checker tests.

The links that you are referring to – are they links pointing to your site(s) or to some 3rd-party services?

Could you share some example links affected by this so we could look into it?

and worse still it is showing this on the output side, visible to all users.

Now, this is something unexpected and I don’t see any reports on that. Could you describe it a bit more? I mean:

    – in what way it’s showing the output on site – is it like some errors from plugin or some code?

    – when did it start to happen – after Broken Link Checker update or some other update/change on site or server?

Let me know please as it’s certainly something that shouldn’t be happening but there’s surely a reason for this and we’d like to identify it to see if it’s some bug or incompatibility in the plugin (so we could fix it then) or if it’s something that could be solved other way (and if so, so we could check how and provide you with solution).

    Kind regards,
    Adam
