# Error – Incompatibility with Bit.ly API Plugin

 * Owners and admins of sites running the Bitly URL Generator plugin, you might 
   want to deactivate that plugin, rather than give yourself numerous headaches.
 * Here is the error message:
 * `[31-Oct-2014 04:50:08 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method Bitly::
   get_bitly_link_for_post_id() in /home1/billinh2/public_html/ohmybonbon/wp-content/
   plugins/jetpack.old/3rd-party/bitly.php on line 26`
 * This ONLY appears after updating to the newest version of JetPack (3.2).
 * If there is a fix for this, that would be awesome. I’m not sure what’s the matter,
   but at least this will serve as a heads up for anyone experiencing issues with
   their WordPress install like I was.
 * Finally got it sorted out thanks to my BlueHost technical support, and by sorted,
   I mean I just deactivated the plugin, since neither of us were sure what the 
   JetPack update is conflicting with.

 * Could you try to delete the `jetpack.old/` directory from your WordPress installation,
   and make sure the Bitly plugin you use on your site is up to date?
 * Once you’ve done so, and if you still experience issues, could you let me know
   what your settings are under Settings > Bitly in your dashboard, so I can try
   to reproduce?
