 * Hi there
 * Just beginning to use Pods on a clean install using the Genesis Sample theme (
   renamed). I have Pods and the Frontier Auto Template plugins running, and nothing
   else.
 * Initially all was fine, but now when I try to save a Pod (I have only created
   two, both are reasonably simple) I get a popup: Error: Invalid post ID. If I
   clear the popup and refresh the page, then the last field I added has gone, the
   template option has been turned off (although the page template I have created
   is unaffected) and the advanced options have reset to default.
 * Any help on this would be great, thanks.

 * You do not need to use the Frontier Auto Template plugin (as is indicated in
   the front portion of that particular plugin, it has been including in Pods since
   version 2.5.6). That’s possibly what might be ‘causing an issue.
 * Sounds like you might just have a bad install of Pods, honestly (it does occasionally
   happen in plugin installs through the WordPress repo). I’d trying deleting the
   pods directory from your wp-content/plugins/ and re-installing and see if you
   still have the same issue.

 * Hi Jim
 * Thanks for getting back to me. So if I deactivate the Auto Template plugin (I
   think I installed it after watching a video tutorial, although I can’t remember
   if that was on the Pods site or third party) and then remove and reinstall Pods
   it might fix itself? Will all of my templates etc remain in the database? I’ll
   back up first, of course!
 * Thanks
    Dom

 * Yes, as long as you don’t do anything to the database, you should be fine. Basically
   by removing the plugin from the plugins directory, you’re basically ‘removing
   it’ before deactivating or uninstalling it.
 * I do this all the time when troubleshooting bad plugins or conflicting plugins.
   Removing the directory tells WordPress, “Well, this thing that was activated
   is no longer there, so I need to deactivate it”. When you re-install it, it just
   reinstalls the plugin and sees that you have Pods settings and templates, etc.
   still in the database.
 * I thought we had gotten through to all folks on the video tutorials that Auto
   Frontier is not needed, but it tells you in the ‘summary’ of the plugin it’s
   not needed anymore.

 * Great, thank you. I’m new to Pods so must have missed that part. Not to worry.
   It hasn’t cost me too much time, and it’s been absolutely invaluable for setting
   up the site I needed to. Definitely one I’ll be using again.

 * OK, I’ve done as you suggested. Deactivated the Templates plugin, then deleted
   Pods from wp-content/plugins. Reinstalled and everything seems to be as it was(
   in terms of my Pods and templates being there), so will carry on and see what
   happens. Thanks again for your help.
