 * made the mistake in WP-settings: defining the url as a [https://&#8230](https://&#8230);
   
   Now I cannot log in to my WP environment any more, I get the message that the
   connection is not private. The url changes to https:// even if it is not entered
   in the url-address bar of the browser.
 * Can I undo this, for instance by changing any wp file using FTP?
    (I can copy-
   paste code but do not “read” php so am not fully aware what I am doing).

 * You can change the the siteurl and home values back to just http:// directly

 * You’ll find phpMyAdmin in your hosting account’s control panel.
 * If you do want your site to operate under https, first get a valid SSL certificate
