# Error Loading Images

 * I’m very new to wordpress.
 * I’m using the wordpress theme twentyeleven.
 * No matter how I try to add an image (media) to a page or a post, I get the following
   error message:
 * “Unable to create directory D:\Hosting\8811390\html/wp-content/uploads/2012/01.
   Is its parent directory writable by the server?”
 * What am I doing wrong? What do I need to change?

 * You need to change the folder permissions on the folder wp-content/uploads.

 * It’s godaddy. I went into my ftp file manager on godaddy and thought I’d changed
   the permissions, but it’s possible I didn’t do the right option.
 * Any suggestions?

 * It looks like you’re on Windows hosting. Check out [http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/6481](http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/6481)
   for how to change permissions, you need to change the uploads folder to full 
   read, write and rewrite.
 * If possible, get them to move you to LINUX hosting instead (it’s a little easier).
