# Error Message

 * I am working with a site and found that as I was attempting to edit a text widget
   I get this error:
 * Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/
   content/n/e/s/nestaedu/html/mtf/wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php’ (include_path
   =’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/n/e/s/nestaedu/html/mtf/wp-admin/
   admin-ajax.php on line 33
 * I also see this message (above) in my Dashboard in WordPress News.
 * Nothing in my core files has been edited or missing.
    I have tried turning off
   all my plugins and trying to edit the text widget but the issue continues. I 
   have re-uploaded the wp-admin directory too.
 * How do I determine what is causing the issue?

 * What theme are you running?
 * Have you tried switching to a default , core theme? It looks like an issue with
   the ajax call, related to your theme.

 * The theme that is used is a child theme that calls to Justin Tadlock’s theme 
   named, Hybrid.
 * I added Twenty Fourteen and activated it. I added a text widget to the Primary
   sidebar and the site immediately threw that same error for me.
 * What now?

 * Re-download WordPress and replace ajax-actions.php inside of wp-admin. Because,
   to me, it looks like ajax-actions.php doesn’t exist or is corrupt.

 * I re-uploaded the entire wp-admin directory.
    I inspected via ftp and found wp-
   admin/includes/ajax-actions.php is indeed present.
 * However, when I attempted to open that file I got an error and the server says
   that file is not present.
 * I can open the file on my desktop but when I replace it on the remote server 
   it will not open. I cannot get info on it and change the read write either.

 * I downloaded a new copy of WordPress v.3.8.1 and tried again. No good. I cannot
   upload that file to the hosting account.

 * You were spot on Evan, thank you so much! I assumed that the files I uploaded
   were fine. I had to login to the hosting account and upload via the cPanel/File
   Manager.
 * The error is gone. Thanks again!
