 * I am in my wordpress admin and there needs to be an update (among other things),
   and I keep getting this error message: **“Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance.
   Check back in a minute.”**
 * I don’t know what to do. I am very new to this.

 * I saw that, and I have no idea where to find the folder to search for it. Also,
   the message appears in my admin page. Not sure if that is what the article is
   referencing.

 * .maintenance should be located in the root folder of your site.
    So, you’re saying
   that the message can only be seen in the admin? Front end looks fine?

 * it appears that wordpress has automatically updated my site, and now the error
   is resolved. weird, but I’m grateful for your help. Thank you. 🙂
