# Error message after installing

 * I receive the following error ” Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING
   in D:\Website\wp-content\plugins\link-checker\linkchecker.php on line 58″. Can
   you please help me out with this, thanks!

 * Thank you for your message.
 * This looks like you are using an outdated PHP version. The Link Checker requires
   at least PHP 5.3. This error normally happens if you use an older version. Could
   that be the case?
 * If so, I would recommend you to upgrade to a newer PHP version. The official 
   support for PHP 5.2 stopped in January 2011. The current versions are PHP 5.6
   and 7.0.
 * Nowadays every hoster should offer at least PHP 5.3, but you have to carefully
   check your complete site after the switch. Normally the most things should work
   fine, but if you are using older plugins, they may not work well with newer PHP
   versions.
