 * Hi everyone.
    I’ve been following the instructions on the “[Migrating Multiple Blogs into WordPress 3.0 Multisite](http://codex.wordpress.org/Migrating_Multiple_Blogs_into_WordPress_3.0_Multisite)”
   and the corresponding “[Create A Network](http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network)”
   Codex pages. I’m at the point of installing the WordPress MU domain mapping plugin…
   when I installed it, I got this error message: “The domain mapping plugin only
   works if the site is installed in /. This is a limitation of how virtual servers
   work and is very difficult to work around.” It’s not letting me do ANYTHING in
   my superadmin site!! I can’t uninstall the plugin. I can’t do anything! It just
   keeps popping up. Plus, I don’t understand the error message. Can someone please
   help?? Thanks so much, Kim

 * Keep in mind that I’m a complete nOOb, but this is my experience…
 * I had this exact problem when I first setup the WPMU (3.01) earlier today – there
   was nothing I could do as an admin without being stopped by that error.
 * Because I was just starting to build on the new WP installation, there was no
   pertinent information in the DB. So I figured I could wipe the app and DB clean
   and reinstall it without a serious loss. In an attempt rectify this problem,
   I reconfigured my domain in cPanel from:
 *  [http://www.domain.com/wp/](http://www.domain.com/wp/)
 *  to
 *  [http://wp.domain.com/](http://wp.domain.com/)
 * When I reinstalled and reconfigured with the new path, this issue didn’t return.
 * I don’t know if you can reconfigure the domain without reinstalling WP, but keep
   in mind that the Tools | Network code may change with a change in the site URL.

 * Thank you for the advice, Johnny. It’s at least good to know that I’m not the
   only one.
    I do have a travel blog with a year of precious posts and photos already
   in my wordpress database, unfortunately. But I DID make a backup of everything
   before I started, so I’m guessing that reconfiguring my domain will be time consuming,
   yet totally possible. I think I’ll probably wait til morning to see if any web
   geniuses have further advice or ideas before I act – but if I hear nothing else,
   I’m happy to have a direction in which to take now! Much appreciated – from one
   newbie to another 🙂

 * Good news!
    An extremely helpful person from BlueHost removed the plugin from
   my cPanel File Manager. Now I know how to do that if it happens again. Whew!
   Relief… Thanks again, Johnny.
