 * No, It’s a PHP Syntax error, Basically it appears that either your set of WordPress
   files are incomplete or corrupt.
 * An alternate option may be that you’re running PHP4 and attempting to use WordPress
   3.2? WordPress 3.2+ requires PHP 5.2.4 or later, You’d need to contact your webhost
   to see if they have a more up to date version of PHP available.

 * Thanks. PHP 4.4.9 was running and when I moved up to 5.2.4 everything installed,

 * Thanks for confirming. I’ve filed a bug and it’ll be fixed for the 3.2 release
   🙂 (So those running PHP4 will get a proper error message if they attempt to 
   install it)
