• I tried installing it, because of the high rating. I made the facebook app but the plugin wouldn’t authorize it. The plugin author said it was the hosting company’s problem, and the hosting company said they needed more information from the author. I never got any help from them.
Their own documentation said what the error message might mean, but said simply, “fix it.”
Not for someone who isn’t a coding guru. (Which I’m not.)

Update: I increased my review to 4 stars because the plugin is working correctly. The customer support folks fixed my issue. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is that they were more interested in telling me it was my fault than fixing the problem. (Although they did.)

  • Hello QuilterChic,

There is some changes in facebook, the app you are using might be v2.10 .
which requires an accurate redirect url with facebook login. We will update the plugin soon.
For the time being you can try this,
In the application page in facebook, navigate to Apps >Add Product > Facebook Login >Quickstart >Web > Site URL. Set the site url as your site url(which is given as a note in the plugin’s settings page).
And then navigate to Apps > Facebook Login > Settings. Set the Valid OAuth redirect URIs as the site url. And set the Use Strict Mode for Redirect URIs
    as No.

We will update the plugin and documentation.
    Thank you for your feedback.
If any issues, please let us know

Just getting back to this after some other priorities…

I did the settings like you said and it still gives the same error message:
Can’t Load URL: The domain of this URL isn’t included in the app’s domains. To be able to load this URL, add all domains and subdomains of your app to the App Domains field in your app settings.

Also, this at the top of the page:
Unable to authorize the facebook application. Please check your curl/fopen and firewall settings.

    Hello QuilterChic,

Did you switch your Facebook app to “public”,If the app is public then remove the app from the facebook account and add again. And make sure the settings are provided correctly. in Apps > Facebook Login > Settings, set the Valid OAuth redirect URIs as the site url. And set the Use Strict Mode for Redirect URIs as No. Please check these and let us know.
If the issue persist you can send your wp details to [email protected] ,then we can check it for you.
    Thank you.
