 * Just updated to WP 4.1 and now website has this error code right on the front
   page:
 * “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/84/4832884/
   html/wp-content/plugins/pods/classes/PodsMeta.php on line 889”
 * Is there a problem with the plugin being outdated and no longer compatible with
   the WP update 4.1?
 * Please advise, thanks!
    Tammy

 * Are you running the old/insecure PHP 5.2?

 * I’m getting the same error. I’m running PHP Version 5.2.17.

 * Resolved in Pods 2.5.1 which you can get from GitHub. Information about getting
   it and the exact problem / solution long-term here:
 * [https://github.com/pods-framework/pods/issues/2553](https://github.com/pods-framework/pods/issues/2553)
 * I recommend you upgrade hosting to at least 5.4 or above, since [both PHP 5.2 and 5.3 are EOL and will no longer be supported with security updates or fixes](http://php.net/eol.php).

 * Yes, thanks or the reply Scott. Updating the PHP Version fixed the issue.
 * In my case, the PHP Version had been updated but my .htaccess file included some
   PHP Add-on code that was causing issues. Once it was removed, everything worked
   great.
