 * I just downloaded the Participants Database plugin. When I activated it, I got
   this message:
Participants Database requires PHP version 5.3 to function properly.
Please upgrade PHP. The Plugin has been auto-deactivated.
 * PHP version 5.4.45 is running on my site. Am I supposed to DOWNgrade?
 * Really looking forward to using this plugin; it sounds like just what we need!

 * No, no need to downgrade.5.3 is the minimum PHP version.
 * Often the reason this happens is that even though your site is configured in
the control panel to use PHP 5.4, that setting my be getting overridden locally
by your htaccess file (or some other confguration). The only way to know for
sure what version you are using is to either run a php info script in your WP
root directory, or use one of several plugins that can tell you what PHP version
is active in your WordPress install.
