Hi – I’m troubleshooting what seems to be plugin conflicts. I had to restore my site from a backup and Mailpoet3 is now throwing this error (repeatedly) when activated:

Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 509 of 3039 bytes in /home/mtzobeqeky0p/public_html/codycalendar.com/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/lib/Doctrine/Types/SerializedArrayType.php on line 27

Should I uninstall and reinstall Mailpoet3?
I think *this* particular error on my site happened when I restored it from a backup (it’s been one of those cascading issues not unlike remodeling a house – tear open one wall to find an issue and look! there are three sitting there needing attention).

    Hi there @janet-white,

    Thanks for reaching out!

You can most definitely try re-installing your MailPoet plugins. Your MailPoet data should be left intact since it’s stored in your database, but since you were having issues in the past, I’d recommend creating a full backup of your site before proceeding.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the response – tried that and it’s still throwing the same error message. Maybe I’ll need to delete the files in the database and start again. Might that work?

I’m not a coder, so not sure what the error is. And, I don’t really have time to do a lot of troubleshooting. I do have a mailchimp account I could switch to, but I truly love Mailpoet for so many reasons. Especially with this website project.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

If you delete the files in the database and you do a fresh install then most probably you’re going to lose old data (subscribers, lists, newsletters, etc.). I wouldn’t do a full reinstall unless you’re okay with wiping out all the information and you want to start from scratch.

In this case, what you can try is manually uninstalling the plugin and then reinstalling it back via FTP. Here’s a guide you can follow:

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes!

    Hi there @janet-white,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
