# Error Message When Refunding

 * We are trying to refund an order through WooCommerce. Every time we try to refund
   an order, this error message comes up:
 * An error occurred while attempting to create the refund using the payment gateway
   API.
 * The plugin works great for order placing and the API is working fine. Does the
   plugin not support refunds?

 * The plugin does support refunds & voiding transactions. We had this issue pop
   up a little while ago and we’d suggest checking the user access settings in your
   NMI account. Please confirm that the user you are connecting with via the API
   Key has refunds or voids turned on. You can check this under: My Settings > User
   Accounts, and then select the user account tied to your API Key.
