ERROR: No shipping method has been selected.

I just upgraded WC from 5.8.1 to 6.5.1 and am now seeing this error message at checkout. We are not using any WC shipping methods and obtain customer address information from PayPal. Has there been a change in shipping since version 5.8.1? I do not want to force customers to enter any address information or select shipping methods. We do that ourselves.

How can I fix this?

Woocommerce one page checkout and layouts Pro: by BluePlugins – 2.3.0

Although shipping can be excluded from the checkout page, billing information is the default behaviour for WooCommerce. I am able to see that you have WooCommerce one page checkout and layouts Pro plugin installed which is what you are possibly using to hide the shipping and billing details on the checkout page.

Please could you check to see if there is any update available for that specific plugin to check for compatibility with the latest version of WooCommerce.

Alternatively, you could try and resave your settings within that plugin to see if it makes any difference.

If anyone wants to know the solution for this…delete all of your shipping zones and recreate them. I was troubleshooting a custom fields plugin and did the thing we all do in wordpress, disable all plugins and roll back to default theme. I removed payment and shipping methods to make testing easier. I was trying to put an order in and was getting this annoying “ERROR: No shipping method has been selected” explained here. Since I was on a test site with plenty of backups I said screw it SCORCHED EARTH! and started deleting everything related to shipping. Once I deleted the shipping zones and created a new one bam, it worked. Also, my plugin started working as well. Backups, backups, backups…so you can scorched earth. I would’ve never figured this out otherwise. Hope this helps someone.
