# Error on adding images

 * When selecting ‘Add Images’ I get this error:
    “There was a problem adding the
   images to your gallery”
 * I have tried multiple pictures, single pictures, tiny file sizes but still the
   error persists.
 * This was working fine on my localhost.
 * I have tried deactivating all plugins – no luck.
 * WP Version 4.0
    MaxGalleria 2.3
 * I am building / testing this site on a demo server which is similar to : [http://12.345.67.89/sitename.com/](http://12.345.67.89/sitename.com/)(
   so no www.) – could this be the cause?

 * Could it possibly be a server issue where the directories are not writable? If
   it was working locally then it seems like it should be working live too. I’d 
   check with your hosting provider if you are able.
 * Also, are you able to upload images normally? Or is it both the standard media
   uploader and MaxGalleria?

 * Thanks for the quick response John.
 * Directories definitely writeable (755 permissions), I can upload to the standard
   media library. I’ve even tried loading the pictures and then just selecting them
   for the Gallery.

 * SBLMedia,
 * This has been a problem when running on a localhost when adding images from the
   media library. We have recently made changes in how attachments are created when
   adding an existing image from the media library. Try it now with the latest version
   of Maxgalleria.
