If Google can’t fetch the document for conversion, it won’t work. My files are uploaded into the media library on WordPress, will that not work? I also have a Google Docs account where the files are also uploaded. Since you called it an “intranet” I’m guessing it’s not (?). * The file has to be at a public location – meaning, if you sent someone on the internet the URL (not that you have to) they should be able to click on it, and with no password or anything just be able to download it. But by todays plugin update to ‘Google Doc Embedder’ version 2.5.8 this error seems to be eliminated.
