Sometimes I have customers call in to make orders over the phone. I will then place an order on our website for them. The problem is I have been getting an error “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” Even though this error pops up, the order still goes through, and shows up under “placed orders” under the account page. Would like help with this, so that this doesn’t happen to any customers in the future.

Error processing checkout. Please try again.
Orders still going through even with “Error processing checkout.”

The link above is also a log of all the fatal error logs that occurred over the past few days. According to the logs, I want to assume this is a memory problem. In the past I have already increased the memory to 256 MB. Do I have to increase it even more or is it possible to delete memory?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello ks9133,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

Based on what you’ve described, it appears that although you receive an error message stating “Error processing checkout. Please try again,” the orders appear to go through and are visible under “Placed Orders” on the account page.

From the Fatal Error logs, it seems that the error you are encountering is due to memory exhaustion, as indicated by the message: “CRITICAL Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted”. This means that the memory allocated to your WordPress installation isn’t sufficient for the tasks it’s trying to perform.

Each WooCommerce site is indeed unique, with varying requirements depending on the number of products, orders, and plugins in use. Some stores operate well at the default limit of 256MB, while others may need up to 2GB to function smoothly without encountering memory limits.

As a general guideline, I recommend increasing the WordPress memory limit to 512MB to see if this resolves the issue.

If you need assistance or are unsure about making these changes yourself, it’s a good idea to reach out to your hosting provider who can often make these adjustments for you.

After updating the memory limit, please monitor your site to see if the issue persists and let us know the result. If the problem continues or if you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to reach out.

    Best regards.

Thanks! I increased the memory limit, and the error has stopped appearing.

    Hi there @ks9133,

I’m glad to hear that increasing the memory limit resolved the error you were experiencing. This is usually an effective solution.

If you have a few minutes, we’d love if you could leave us a review: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/.

    Thanks!
