    Hi Support,

I’ve encountered an issue where I can’t configure or retrieve the settings for payment. When I navigate to Payment > Settings, the UI doesn’t display the current settings for payment; it’s all blank. Additionally, I’m seeing the following error message at the bottom: “Error retrieving settings.”

I believe I’ve identified the cause but I’m unsure how to address it. It seems to be related to the site’s permalink settings. After installing the site and activating all plugins and payment methods, I made changes to the permalink structure (switching to “Post name”). This was done a while back, and since then, I’ve added many products.

If I change the permalink structure back to “Plain,” I’m able to access the payment settings. However, this change would impact my site indexing (Google SEO).

Is there a way to resolve the payment settings issue without reverting the permalink settings back to “Plain”?

    Thank you.

    Dan

    Hi @softeye73,

I’ve never seen this unusual issue before! However, let’s try to troubleshoot it together.

Could you kindly delete the .htaccess files? After that, please navigate to Settings > Permalinks and select the “post name” option.

Additionally, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear

Next, please clear your browser cache and then check again.

If this makes no difference, please share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: Navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get System Report and then Download for Support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and share the link here.

I’m hopeful this will resolve the problem. Let me know how it goes!

    Hi @shameemreza,

Thank you for your response regarding the issue and for your assistance.

I carefully followed all the instructions provided in your guideline.

Regarding the permalink setting, it is already configured to “Post Name,” so I haven’t made any changes there. Unfortunately, the issue persists despite this.

Here is the link to the information you requested. Hopefully, this additional information will help pinpoint the issue more accurately.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Hi @softeye73,

I tried reviewing the Fatal Error Log but that snippet has already expired. Could you please kindly share it again?

Additionally, can you share more details about the issue? Do you see any errors on your screen or your browser’s console? Can you share a screenshot, please?

Refreshing the permalinks doesn’t fix the issue either, correct?

Can you please enable WP Debug and share the log found in WooCommerce → Status → Logs and inside the error log file generated on your server?

Looking forward to resolving this issue for you.

Refreshing the Permalinks didnt do the trick :-/

If I understand correctly from the error log the cause is the theme.

    Correct?

I will modify the Theme and report back

    Hi @omarfpg

Im Happy to confirm that changing the theme solve the issue and the setting are visible and configurable.

I assume I should point this to the Theme creators

Thank you for your help and guideline
