    WP Data Access 5.2.9

    Using Premium Data Explorer, when attempting to create a Remote Data Connection, I am receiving the error:

    ERROR: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1105 Syntax error in URL

    I have added the IP of the Siteground WordPress site to the Remote Access List for the MySQL database in question, which is located on another Siteground site (not running WordPress).

    Using the same connection string parameters in MySQL Workbench, I am able to successfully connect to the remote database.

    Any ideas what could be causing this error?

    Are you connecting via PDS or directly from the Data Explorer?

    Hi Peter. I started in PDS to activate the service and then went to Data Explorer.

    I brought this issue up with Siteground’s hosting service technical support and there investigation into the problem showed no connection errors in the MySQL logs. They also tested the connection string parameters that I am using and were successfully able to connect both locally and from another remote host.

    Could the issue be with rdb:wpdafreeyouniquedata.com?
