# ERROR “The file contains JS code. Please remove …”

 * Hello everyone
 * In the Bit File Manager editor, when I try to edit the function.php file after
   saving, it gives the following error:
   “The file contains JS code. Please remove
   the code and try again. Or allow js mimetype”
 * While in the default WordPress editor there is no problem.

 * To resolve the issue you’re experiencing in the **Bit File Manager** editor, 
   please follow these steps:
    1. Navigate to the **“Permissions”** settings within Bit File Manager.
    2. Under **“Allowed MIME types,”** add **JavaScript (JS)** to the list.
    3. Save the settings and try editing the `functions.php` file again.

 * I thought the setting was the same as the preferences.
