# Error uploading files

 * I am trying to upload .doc,.xls and .pdf files to a post using the option **Add
   Media**.But I am getting an error as “file upload failed’.On other installation
   it is ok .Is that error occurring as it is Multisite installation?
 * Does anybody have Idea on uploading files with these extensions?
 * Thanks !

 * Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have 
   problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions
   on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.
