Hello @pixandhue
This sounds more like an Instagram/Facebook API issue, or maybe you have restricted something in your account.
Try removing our app from this page and re-connect the plugin:
https://www.instagram.com/accounts/manage_access/
If this doesn’t work, could you check if you’re able to connect other similar Instagram plugins?
Hi there – thanks for your quick response. I did remove access and try re-connecting again. I still received the same error message.
I confirmed I could successfully connect the same Instagram account with the “Smash Balloon Instagram Feed” plugin. You can see the website link here -> https://brielle.pixandhue.com/ and see the feed successfully displaying at the bottom of the page.
I still have full access to the Instagram account, and have not had any display issues in the past. When the access token expired most recently, I received the error message when trying to reconnect again. Thanks!
@pixandhue
Did you recently turn off the “off-Facebook activity”?
The “Future Off-Facebook Activity” option in your Facebook account’s settings is explained in detail here:
https://www.facebook.com/help/1224342157705160?helpref=faq_content
If this option is turned off, your account will not be able to log into any connected apps, our plugin included. This will cause the connection to fail, and the feed will stop updating itself with new posts.
If you have this option turned off before connecting the Instagram account in our plugin, the connection will fail.
If your Instagram account is already connected to our plugin and you then turn off this option, your feed will stop updating.
Please keep the “Future Off-Facebook Activity” option turned on at all times.
Hi there – No, I haven’t changed any account settings. I’ve also been able to connect the same Instagram account to another plugin without issue. This is after the connection to this plugin failed. Do you have any other suggestions?
@pixandhue
Could you test the plugin on a different website or maybe try connecting to a different Instagram account?
Most likely, there’s a conflict caused by something else: your server, a different plugin, or your theme.
Ok, I will just use another plugin for my site. Thanks for your help!
