# Error when uploading theme

 * I am brand new to WordPress and blogging. When I try to upload a theme, I get
   the below error message:
 * “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this
   server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support
   forums.”
 * I’ve read some of the previous posts around server issues, but it’s way over 
   my head. Could someone please give me some pointers?

 * I have had this issue in the past and it was simply an internet connectivity 
   issue. I mean not an internet issue from my ISP’s side but at the host’s side.
   I would be able to play YouTube just fine but won’t be able to upload a theme.
   I contacted the host for a FTP account and uploaded it just fine. Try the FTP
   way if you cannot upload via Dashboard. or the host must be able to upload it
   for you.

 * Alternatively, you could also check the error log of your hosting to see what
   is stored there about the problem. The error message displayed there should provide
   information about the cause.
 * However, a question: does this happen with every theme or only with a specific
   one? Otherwise, can you install themes via the theme search? Can you also upload
   normal files in the media library?
