 * We seem to receive a 406 (Not Acceptable) error when your site tries to communicate
   with WordPress.com. This is often caused by security rules enabled on your server
   by your hosting provider.
 * Could you contact your host, and ask them if they block or restrict requests 
   to the XML-RPC file on your site, or if they use a tool like Mod Security to 
   monitor and restrict connections to the XML-RPC file?
    If they do use such a 
   tool, could you ask them to check your security logs to find out if requests 
   coming from WordPress.com are currently being blocked?
