# Error while re-installing

 * I’ve downloaded the latest version of wordpress (3.1.1), modified the wp-config-
   sample.php file changing the DB_NAME, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD and DB_HOST fields
   only, renamed it to wp-config.php and uploaded everything.
 * When I try to launch the wp-admin/install.php file I just get a general error
   message.
 * Notes: (may help)
    • I’m using Aruba.it as web hosting company. • I’m trying 
   to install wordpress on [http://www.gordonirvingdesign.com](http://www.gordonirvingdesign.com)•
   When I tried to firstly open up the wp-admin/install.php page it didn’t work,
   so I’ve had to change the wp-config-sample.php file manually. • I’m on a Mac 
   and I’ve used Cyberduck to upload everything. • I used to keep an old wordpress
   blog on the same domain. Then something went wrong during an update so I’ve cleaned
   it and now I’m trying to reinstall it. • I’ve already cleaned all the mysql database
   tables.

 * No, I’m using the same one but when I log into my control panel all the databases

 * Rename your wp-config.php file to wp-config.php.old and try re-installing with
   WordPress creating the wp-config file this time.

 * Did you try with a fresh download of WordPress? Have you spoken to your hosts
   about this?

 * I did try with a fresh download already. My host should be fine, I know other
   people who have a wordpress blog hosted with aruba.it and everything works fine.
