 * Hello,
 * I’m facing the fatal error while scanning my website “/var/www/html/wp-includes/
Requests/src/Transport/Curl.php on line 554”. I tried to increase the memory
limit but its also not working in my case. Please share the solution.
   Thank you.

 * Hi [@deven5](https://wordpress.org/support/users/deven5/), thanks for getting
   in touch.
 * Sometimes an error in Curl.php comes after another error or notice although I
can’t find this specific line number coming up before that might point me in
the direction of what the previous error might be.
 * Could you please make sure Wordfence is up-to-date and then do the following
   for me?:
    - Go to the **Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics** page
    - In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
    - Click to “Save Changes”.
    - **CANCEL** any current scan and start a **NEW** scan
    - Copy the last 20 lines or so from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) of the
activity log **once the scan finishes** and paste them in this post.

 * This might just help provide previous errors or the scan stage that was being
   attempted when the error occurred.
 * Thanks,
   Peter.

 * Please help to solve this issue, actually my website is redirecting to spam website
and I’m not able to scan it.

 * Hi [@deven5](https://wordpress.org/support/users/deven5/), thanks for sending
   that over.
 * The error you’re seeing of `Allowed memory size of x bytes exhausted...`is almost
always memory exhaustion occurring outside of PHP somewhere on the server. There’s
a chance that Wordfence’s scan, saving settings, or other Live Traffic operations
triggered the error due to requiring some memory but it’s not the root cause
from our tests with other customers.
 * Your operating system/web server log files will likely show if memory is being
exhausted somewhere outside of PHP and why. This is usually a job for your hosting
company’s support channels as they have access to those logs, can diagnose the
source and potentially resolve the problem. Shared servers especially can experience
this problem, but that’s just a guess and may not be the case here.
 * If your website is also redirecting elsewhere, you may be affected by malware.
There are naturally other attack vectors outside of WordPress that we don’t control
like database passwords, cPanel access and FTP credentials so **as a rule, any
time I think someone’s site has been compromised I also tell them to update their
passwords for their hosting control panel, FTP,  WordPress admin users, and database.
   Make sure to do this.**
 * I will provide our site cleaning instructions for you below:

 * Additionally you might find the WordPress Malware Removal section in [our free Learning Center](https://wordfence.com/learn/)
helpful. We provide a site cleaning service should you need assistance, as do
   other companies.
 * I hope that helps you out,
   Peter.
