I’ve tested this plugin on local and in a stage environment and it still throws the “Something went wrong, please try again!” error when I search and for the first time on a fresh browser.

I’ve tested allowing location by default on desktop. on mobile, i’ve accepted the request to find location, same error.

Also, when the locations do load in the sidebar, I cannot search. Each time throws same above error.

I’ve cleared cache, switched browsers, incognito – the whole bit. The console just shows the API key warning (which I’ve also tested with same result)

Starting location is set, region etc…

    It’s weird what’s going on.

An API key was never required to make it work ( just recommended ). I thought for a second that maybe they updated the API and now it is required, but then I should get errors on my own sites as well and that doesn’t happen.

You can try and create and browser key here. Let me know if that really fixes it.

    So keys are required now.

We no longer support keyless access (any request that doesn’t include an API key). Future product updates are only available for requests made with an API key. API keys allow us to contact developers when required and help us identify misbehaving implementations.

    Thanks Tijmen,

I added the browser key and the live site started working as expected.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
