# errors using hidden fields

 * Hi,
 * I get an error ‘Invalid mailbox syntax’ on several forms using [your-email] or[
   your-subject] in the mail settings.
   I can’t find the reason on [https://contactform7.com/configuration-errors/invalid-mailbox-syntax/](https://contactform7.com/configuration-errors/invalid-mailbox-syntax/).
   So I think this is caused by the fact that I use hidden fields in the form; as
   the form is only available for logged-in users, it’s not necessary to ask them
   to fill out more fields than necessary.
 * Is it possible to excempt hidden fields from errors, other than changing the 
   wp-config.php or theme’s functions.php (instructions I found on [https://contactform7.com/configuration-validator-faq/](https://contactform7.com/configuration-validator-faq/)),
   that (I suppose) apply to all errors?

 * What email settings do you have in the Mail tab panel?
 * To protect personal data, hiding email addresses in the settings or replacing

 * I suppose the issue is that it’s not only a hidden field, but also a pre-filled
   field. I made 3 screenshot and share it in this pdf-file: 
   [https://leden.waternatuurlijk.nl/wp-content/uploads/contactform7issue-your-email.pdf](https://leden.waternatuurlijk.nl/wp-content/uploads/contactform7issue-your-email.pdf)(
   in the print, there is a * in the hidden fields, but that’s an error on my part).
 * I hope the issue is clear. Contact forms are used on a members-only site, so 
   anyone that uses a form, is a registrated and admitted person.

 * You get a [config error](https://contactform7.com/configuration-errors/invalid-mailbox-syntax/)
   because you set `Reply-To: [your-email]` in the Additional Headers field and 
   no `your-email` field exists in the form.
 * If you want the logged-in user’s email, use the `[_user_email]` special mail-
   tag. See [User-related special mail-tags](https://contactform7.com/special-mail-tags/#user-related)
