# Essential Blocks causing JSON response Error

 * Hello,
   I’ve been running into an issue with my site being unable to save changes
   to Gutenberg pages. After doing some troubleshooting, it appears the Essential
   Blocks plugin is causing the following error to occur: _“Updating failed. The
   response is not a valid JSON response.”_I’ve looked at the developer tools, and
   it’s showing this in the console:
 * _syntaxerror: unexpected token ‘<‘, “<!doctype “… is not valid json at json.parse_.
 * If I disable the plugin and try to save the page, it works perfectly. 
   Is this

 * We’re also experiencing this.
 * Also, since updating from 4.4.1 to 4.4.6 when using Block Patterns in WooCommerce
   product descriptions the updating of the product takes forever and the CPU load
   spikes on all cores and remains high for 5-10 minutes.
 * **Edit:** Upon further testing the above issue seems to have been introduced 
   in version 4.4.4 and is still prevalent in 4.4.5 & 4.4.6.
 * There are some excessive performance issues or infinite loop/update scenarios
   which are handled very poorly I’m afraid.

   with what I’ve experienced. It’s only recently, after updating, that this issue
   has occurred. 
   The site I have Essential Blocks on doesn’t have WooCommerce but
   is experiencing the exact same issues that you’re facing. After trying to save,
   it seems to spike the CPU & it seems to put in a load of requests, which my server
   blocks as spam attacks. For 5-10 minutes, I get blocked from accessing all sites
   on the hosting plan. I emailed the details above a few days ago and haven’t heard
   back yet.

 * I can confirm this, I also had many problems with slowness and WSoDs, the slowness
   and sometimes WSoDs happened when I tried to save the editions done in Gutenberg,
   I disabled it and now the backend saves and frontend loads fine.

   today.We have released a new update of Essential Block plugin **4.4.7**, can 
   you please update the plugin and check the scenario?Joe Jacks, confirms to us,
   that the above-mentioned issue is not available for him. with the latest version

 * Same issue with our WP.
 * Currently using the latest Free Version: 4.4.7, it hangs the whole server when
   page UPDATE is hit, it creates several POST requests and overwhelms the server
   with 503 errors.. The issue was noticed last month ( old version, current version
   same issue )
