Those are 3 images in theme’s image folder used in background image property. I don’t think there is psd file available, so just edit the images directly.
Where did you download this theme from?
Ever After
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/ever-afterIt’s a child theme of forever
Oh poot! That didn’t come up when I searched. I only got the wordpress.com version…
I recognize that theme from .com too actually, it’s just avaialbe in .org recently.
Could I change the image itself if I created my own banner? How would I do that?
Ever After is already a child theme, so you have to just make changes to it directly. In this case, it’s as simple as replacing that 3 images in its image folder, so it’s not much to do.
Just make the images with the same dimensions, width and height in px for all 3 images. The best is to use that same set of images and only alter the color.

Side question: now that we’re seeing an increasing number of child themes being added to the theme repo, how should users proceed – bearing in mind that they will be seeing the occasional “update theme” message? I wouldn’t want to see people’s own changes being wiped out by an update to the child theme.
Sorry, still quite new to this. Where exactly would I find the image files to replace?
- Connect to the server via cPanel or FTP.
- Navigate to images folder inside your theme folder.
- Download all images with ribbon name in it.
- Edit them as you like, but keep the names the same.
- Re-upload.
Be careful when connecting to server, if you never done that before, ask the person who installed WP for you do it for you.
As mentioned by esmi, this one is interesting. WP doesn’t have grand child theme system. So in this case, there seems to be nothing else we can do other than keep a separate backup and take care of that ourselves.
So if you make that images, make sure you have them backup somewhere too.
I did it myself. I think I can get my host company to help me find that location of the folder you are talking about. Thanks so much for your help!
I think I’ll bring this up the with theme review and support teams. Perhaps we can come up with a practical support policy/recommendation for these situations.
That would be great! Just changing the banner alone would make it more unique than it already is. 🙂
Do you think the image banner is in the child theme or the parent theme?

It’s your theme, Ever After, which is child theme.
and never touch parent theme, there is no need to.
