# exceeded allocated memory error, widgets?

 * I awoke this morning to discover visitors to my site were getting the following
   error message:
 * Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate
   3840 bytes) in /home/peoriapu/public_html/blogpeoria/wp-includes/widgets.php 
   on line 541
 * My site is [http://peoriapundit.com/blogpeoria](http://peoriapundit.com/blogpeoria)
 * I am not running widgets, and I don;t even have the plugin installed on my blog.
   I’m using WP 2.2.2.
 * I am using a widget read theme, however.

 * Indeed it did.
 * I simply added this line to the bottom of my .htaccess file:
 * php_value memory_limit 24M
 * Works like a charm now.
